Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi

"The U.S immigration department has issued visas for many travelers, but now they ban those travelers from entering the U.S; therefore, a question is raised here, who has confirmed these entry visas? Where in the world is there such anarchy and lawlessness?"

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – During his Kharij-e-Fiqh class in Qom's Grand Mosque, Iran, and simultaneously with the anniversary of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a senior Shia cleric, made some remarks  regarding the 10 Days of Dawn which marks the victory of Iran's Revolution saying," During the 1979 popular uprisings in Iran against the Shah's regime, people came together in their resolve by adhering to valuable concepts such as national unity, self- sacrifice and recourse to Allah (swt) to overthrow the Pahlavi regime. This victory serves as a historic lesson for the generations to come."

The Shia source of emulation then stressed the significance of countries' independence adding that relying on foreign countries is not rational; "The U.S. politicians, for one, do not abide by their own words, so how can one trust them?"

He went on, "The U.S immigration department has issued visas for many travelers, but now they ban those travelers from entering the U.S; therefore, a question is raised here, who has confirmed these entry visas?  The American politicians do not respect and approve their own rules and regulations, so how do we expect them to respect others? Where in the world is there such anarchy and lawlessness?"

"Is it rational to trust people who don't trust themselves?  Meanwhile, Saudi citizens, whose country is known to be the main sponsor of terrorism, are allowed to freely enter the U.S. without any problems; this is the logic of countries such as the U.S," Ayatollah Makarem concluded.
